Hello and welcome…

My birthday is very early in January and this year I hit the middle of another decade.  I was aware of the looming “next big number”, and I kept thinking “what if”?

My life is good with so much to be grateful for.  I live near the beach, am an interior designer working from home, and a mum after 3pm. I love my job but I am unsettled and frustrated because of that constant busy feeling. Where is the time to think, create, and ‘play’; while juggling many roles in our daily lives, many of us feel this, right?

I have given this much thought over January and February – and I completely understand how lucky I am, that right now this is my biggest problem in life – and I believe I DO have the time but somehow doing the fun things is never a priority when there’s always more work to do.  It’s all about the prioritising of time isn’t it?  Fun for me is making and creating things, and if I’m not going to start freeing up time now, then when?  And where might this lead?  I’m curious.  Curious enough to make a commitment to myself – to make 2015 the year for making time and seeing what happens as a result.

By blogging my creative explorations I will feel a greater need to commit.  So, from April to December I will select one creative outlet to explore per month.  Nothing will be overly challenging – the challenge is finding time regularly to ensure I see this through….

I’ll post my ideas for the sorts of things I wish to explore soon…

Living close to the beach encourages a relaxed way of living and this influences my work as an interior designer. I am drawn to the eclectic, faded colours, rustic timber, the imperfection of things hand made, and objects that tell a story.
